The opportunity
Signatus are partnering with a leading Irish corporate law firm to hire a Senior Employment Knowledge Lawyer.
This is a senior role with responsibility for employment law knowledge, lawyer development, client training and business development.
You will work closely with the partners and a large team of employment lawyers. Your work will turn Irish and EU employment law developments into practical guidance for lawyers and clients.
As a result, you will improve the quality of the team’s knowledge resources, strengthen lawyer capability and support the continued growth of the Employment practice.
The role may suit an experienced Employment Lawyer, Employment Knowledge Lawyer, Professional Support Lawyer, Practice Development Lawyer or senior employment law specialist.
Previous experience in a dedicated knowledge lawyer role is helpful but not essential.
What you will own
• Create and deliver the Employment practice’s knowledge and business development plan with the partner group
• Keep partners and lawyers informed about significant Irish and EU employment law developments
• Turn new legislation, case law and market developments into practical client updates, briefings and training
• Improve the accuracy, accessibility and commercial value of employment law precedents, knowledge resources and client materials
• Lead the ongoing development of the team’s employment law knowledge database
• Design and deliver practical training for clients, junior lawyers and the wider Employment practice
• Provide clear technical support on complex employment law and industrial relations questions
• Represent the practice at client seminars, industry conferences and professional events in Ireland and internationally
• Help the partners assess how legal technology and AI can improve knowledge delivery and client service
• During the first 6 to 12 months, establish clear knowledge priorities, strengthen the training programme and improve how legal insight is shared
What we are looking for
Must have
• Qualification as a solicitor or barrister with at least five years PQE in employment law
• Comprehensive knowledge of Irish employment law gained in private practice, in house or another relevant legal environment
• Experience advising on contentious or non contentious employment law matters
• The ability to explain complex legal developments through practical advice, training and written content
• Strong project management skills and the judgement to manage competing priorities
• Confident communication and presentation skills when working with clients, partners and lawyers
Helpful but not essential
• Previous experience as a Knowledge Lawyer, Professional Support Lawyer or Practice Development Lawyer
• An interest in legal technology, knowledge management systems and the use of AI within legal services
