The opportunity
Due to continued growth, we are recruiting an experienced Senior Lawyer to join a team of committed and passionate professionals in their Belfast office. You will be engaged in challenging and rewarding, high value casework as you represent clients who are victims of clinical negligence.
The opportunity will suit a confident and compassionate Senior Lawyer with a committed background of representing plaintiffs and victims of clinical negligence, matched by a strong track record of running complex cases. sound judgment, confident decision-making and significant legal knowledge and expertise are all essential attributes for the successful senior lawyer to present with.
You will be handling claims for clinical negligence, surgical error and complications such as cerebral palsy, injuries caused by mesh implants, misdiagnosis and delayed diagnosis cases, including those involving cancer. Therefore, you will have a natural ability to provide legal services with a personal touch, demonstrating your care, understanding and sensitivity to clients who may have suffered negligence.
The role
As a Senior Lawyer with at least 8 years PQE, you will run a high value caseload which includes complex cases at the highest values, and you will be able to deal with all aspects of running these cases from initial interview to trial. You will therefore need to have a thorough working knowledge and understanding of the issues involved in dealing with such cases, such as costs and the litigation process. The ideal candidate will also play an important role in helping to achieve the team’s objectives. This is not a role where you will be simply asked to run a caseload. You will be an integral member of the senior team and will have managerial responsibilities over junior staff and trainees.
Aa a key element of the role involves mentoring and supervising other team members and supporting them with High court and county Court cases, so an enthusiasm for sharing knowledge and expertise to grow talent within the wider team is essential. In addition to supporting the team, you will also have excellent networking skills, enabling you to nurture and develop relationships with clients and contributing towards business development.
