Salary negotiable depending on experience
Your new role
Signatus are exclusively representing a major housing and care provider PLC, to recruit a litigation paralegal into their in house team. You will work across the entire group and subsidiaries gaining vast experience in commercial and contentious matters that otherwise wouldn’t be open to you in private practice.
You will be assisting the in house lawyers to review commercial agreements, leases, extensions and help prepare documents and filings for tender and bid preparation.
You will manage dilapidations claims from both commercial and residential sectors across the property portfolio and will assist with research and reporting on contract queries including construction contracts, adjudication, mediations, and will provide support with debt recovery matters and small claims court cases.
You will be given the opportunity to work on some complex high value contractual payment cases and have responsibilities to manage your own caseload of matters also.
Your role is not confined to Belfast and you will have the opportunity to interact with and liaise with the business group at all levels to assist the heads of divisions to provide quality legal advice and support.
You will also be exposed to working with other legal professionals external to the company including helping Senior Counsel and QC’s prepare for hearings.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a paralegal with good litigation or commercial experience to gain in house experience and advance their career. Although a training contract is not on offer at the minute, it may be something that develops in future within the firm. It is a role more likely to suit a paralegal who is seeking to gain a few years’ experience in house working on high value, varied and interesting caseloads.
What is required?
You should have a qualifying law degree from UK/IRL or alternatively, be able to offer experience within a similar position in either private practice or an in house environment.
Some experience in either commercial debt recovery, commercial litigation, property litigation, commercial contracts or any of the areas highlighted above is essential.
Who to contact?
If you meet the requirements or if you would like to discuss this role further, please forward your CV to our principal Legal Consultant Fionntán Gamble, who will contact you with further information.
