We are representing a fast growing solicitor’s practice in Belfast who are recruiting an experienced legal secretary to manage their conveyancing department. Our client is a busy and professional office with a team of 3 support staff and 4 fee earners, who work across all general practice areas. A Legal Secretary with experience in conveyancing, wills & probate matters will be required to work closely with the senior partner in this role. You will be offered an excellent working environment, friendly, autonomous and with the ability to work from home on occasions, together with an employer who places a lot of trust in managing their staff properly. Our client will consider experienced paralegals who present with excellent, conveyancing, wills and probate experience also.

Your new role

Ultimately reporting to the Senior Partner, the legal secretary will take charge of a caseload of conveyancing files throughout all stages of the process. Typically, but not exhaustively, your remit will involve work around:


  • Post completions
  • SDLT forms
  • LandWeb or EWeb registrations
  • A variety of secretarial and administrative duties
  • Audio Typing / transcribing
  • Legal Aid form completion and submission
  • Meeting and greeting clients
  • Diary management
  • Control of correspondence
  • Assisting with the file preparation and court documents


All about you

  • Previous property and Legal Secretary experience – 3+ years ideally
  • Residential Conveyancing experience is essential
  • Excellent typing skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication
  • Highly organised and an ability to prioritise work streams independently
  • Minimum level of qualification GCSE’s Maths and English Grades A – C
  • Professional and friendly demeanour
