The Role
Ready to take the next step in your underwriting career? Our client, a growing leader in SME and fleet insurance, is looking for an ambitious Commercial Underwriter to join their Belfast office. This is an ideal role for an experienced underwriter who values collaboration, proactive problem-solving, and innovative client solutions.
You’ll assess and manage various commercial fleet insurance risks, from haulage fleets to SME mini-fleets, ensuring each policy meets both regulatory standards and client needs. Collaborating with brokers and claims specialists, you’ll oversee underwriting from start to finish, shaping solutions that go beyond price.
Key Responsibilities
- Underwrite diverse commercial fleet risks, emphasizing client-specific solutions
- Develop deep broker relationships across a broad SME portfolio.
- Collaborate closely with brokers to craft flexible, competitive policies
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards through meticulous underwriting

What We’re Looking For
- Solid underwriting experience, ideally in fleet or commercial insurance
- Analytical, detail-oriented mindset with proactive risk management skills
- Strong interpersonal skills for seamless broker-client relations
- Knowledge of FCA regulations and insurance law
