Your new employer?

Our client is an ambitious and growing brokerage firm who are looking to attract talented and experienced Account Handler (Personal Lines) to join the team in their next stage of growth. This role is suitable for account handlers who are both willing to do 5 days per week in office once a full return is in place. Or alternatively, there is flexibility for candidates who wish to remain in a hybrid 2/3 day split. you will join a team of circa 8-10 other personal lines handlers and will have the support of senior management and team leads to assist on any challenging aspects of the role.

In the new role you will be responsible for providing quotations, renewals, mid-term adjustments and amendments on policies ranging from £100’s to £1000’s. You will be expected to deal with all types of customers professionally and efficiently to meet their needs and expectations.

Ideally you will be an account handler with previous personal lines experience in a broking environment, have achieved or are on the way to achieving Cert II and have experience with Open GI or a similar CMS.

What will I be responsible for?

You will provide a complete professional service to new prospects, existing clients and your account executives in respect of quotations, adjustments, renewals and claims.

Your standard work duties include:

  • Negotiating with underwriters to find the best price
  • Advising clients on risk management/mitigation
  • Working to deadlines for renewals
  • Ensure efficiency and streamlined workflows where possible in your process
  • Support senior staff when required

To fit within our client’s work culture and be able to demonstrate you have similar work ethics and ethos, you will likely be able to prove the following:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ account handling experience in personal lines role
  • Experience within a broking environment (preferable)
  • Experience handling your own accounts (preferrable)
  • Working knowledge of Open GI (preferable)
  • Professional qualification – CII or working towards professional Insurance qualifications
